人间四月芳菲尽，踏景览书正当时。读书是教师提升个人素养与文化底蕴的有效途径，教师的专业发展，需要丰富的实践经验积累，也需要经典的教育著作引领。

Flowers begin to decay in April, but it is still a good time to read amidst the beautiful scenery. Reading is an effective way for teachers to improve personal quality and cultural deposits. The development of teachers in profession not only requires the accumulation of rich practical experience, but also needs the guidance of classic works on education.

这个四月，双语教师研修坊的老师们来到万科·上生新所，这一集多元文化与艺术气息于一身的网红打卡地。

In this April, teachers of Workshop of VKBS Teachers came to Vanke · Columbia Circle, a place integrating diversified cultures and artistic atmosphere and popular in social media.

上生新所，上海万科首个城市更新项目，地处延安西路1262号，所在区域是上海44片历史文化风貌区之一的新华路历史文化风貌区。上世纪20年代，这里曾是供外籍侨民休闲娱乐的哥伦比亚乡村俱乐部。1951年上海生物制品研究所进驻后，由于研究所的特殊性，曾是60余年不对外开放的神秘之地，现变身为集文创办公、休闲时尚、美食娱乐为一体的开放式国际文化艺术生活圈。

Columbia Circle, the first urban renewal project of Shanghai Vanke, is located at No. 1262 Yan’an West Road. The area of its location, Xinhua Road Historical and Cultural Scenic Area, is one of the 44 historical and cultural scenic areas in Shanghai. In 1920s, it was the Columbia Country Club for the leisure and recreation of foreign residents. In 1951, Shanghai Institute of Biological Products moved in this area. Due to the special nature of the Institute, this area remained as a mysterious place inaccessible for the public for more than 60 years. Nowadays, it has become an open international cultural and artistic life circle integrating functions of culture and creation, office building, recreation and fashion, delicacy and entertainment.

暖暖的春日午后，平日里忙碌的老师们一起放慢脚步，走进时下人气书店“茑屋书店”，置身浓浓的书香氛围，尽情徜徉书海，悠闲地享受这一份恬静美好。

In the warm afternoon of a spring day, teachers who are always busy at ordinary times slowed down their steps here. They walked into the popular bookstore “Tsutaya Books” to feel the elegant atmosphere of books and linger in the sea of books. They enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful time in a leisure mood.

茑屋书店，博物馆般的场景设计，室内景观与老建筑的雕花、立柱、门窗均有呼应。艺术名家和晃平带来的金色雕塑，与书店的壁炉近乎完美的结合。

Tsutaya Books adopts the museum-like scene design and its interior landscape just echoes with the carving, columns, doors and windows in this old building. The golden sculpture created by the artist Kohei Nawa has made a perfect match with the fireplace in the bookstore.

“茑屋”在日本代表了匠心精神，也代表了不断革新的生活理念、生活方式。教师们也需要根据时代更迭，不断学习新的教育理论和名师著作来充实自己，让自己更透彻地领悟教育真谛、反思教学方法、创新课程设计以及优化教学管理。

“Tsutaya” represents the spirit of originality in Japan and also the constantly renovating life concepts and styles. Teachers also need to enrich them by learning new education theories and studying famous works as the times change, so that they can comprehend the true meaning of education, reflect on teaching methods, innovate course design and optimize teaching management.

如果说万科双语的学生有什么特点，热爱阅读一定是排名前三的。在VKBS的开放式图书馆内藏书万余册，小学生的平均阅读量为每周一本中文和一到两本英文图书，这个数据则是媒体报道出来的中国人均纸质书籍阅读量的32倍。

To list the characteristics of students from VKBS, loving reading must be among the top three. In the open library of VKBS, there are tens of millions of books. On average, our primary school students will read one Chinese book and one to two English books every week, which is 32 times the amount of paper books read per capita in China.

正如我们名誉校长王石先生所说：“一所好学校，会有一种特殊的磁场，让人祛除浮躁，静心读书”，所以作为教师也应当发挥榜样的力量，以身立教为人师表。

Just as our honorary principal Mr. Wang Shi said, “A good school will have a special magnetic field, which helps to dispel our restlessness and makes us immersed in books”, so teachers should also play the role of models, teach students with their own behaviors and virtues.

双语教师研修坊的定期开展将促进学校融合教育与教师的跨文化理解，有利于教学共同体的建设与发展，为教师成长提供了一条有迹可循的道路。

The regular activities of Workshop of VKBS Teachers will promote the school’s inclusive education and teachers’ cross-cultural understanding, contribute to the construction and development of teaching community and provide a clear and traceable path for the growth of teachers.
